Caves   Colorful tales of pirates and buried treasure have long been circulated by the locals. The island's name means "red gold," and exploring the caves along the southeast coast can be a swashbuckling experience.

The Guadirikiri Cave, once a pirate lair, is famous for its two chambers where sunlight shines through, and is the perfect backdrop for unique photos. Be adventurous and dare to go down the 100-foot tunnel, home to hundreds of harmless bats.

 

Natural Pool  The Cura di Tortuga is a hidden natural pool on the windward coast surrounded by rocks, and is a perfect getaway for a moment of total relaxation. It's surrounded by rugged terrain, so you will need four-wheel drive vehicle--or a horse.

Shopping in Aruba  Stores are stocked with imported perfume, liquor, linens, jewelry, watches, cameras, designer fashions, crystal and china at attractive prices. Many stores also feature local handicrafts.

Most stores and boutiques are located in Oranjestad, but shops can also be found at the larger hotels and at the airport. Aloe is abundant in Aruba and skin care products are manufactured right on the island.
