Tour SH3 : Can you enjoy the majesty of Mount Fuji, the marvels of travel on the Bullet Train, and appreciate the traditions of Old Kyoto, all in the space of three days? Yes, it's possible, thanks to Japan's compact size, the efficiency of its transport system, and our own special connections. Compare with the Two Day Version or the Honeymoon Onsen

Day 1: TOKYO - KYOTO (L)
Your motor coach will pick you up ( From most major hotels in Metropolitan Tokyo)
between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. at any of the major hotels in Tokyo, and before long, you'll be out past the suburbs and into the neatly tended countryside beyond. Mount Fuji with its perfect, snow-capped conical shape will hover into view, every more impressive as we approach. We'll continue right onto the slopes of Japan's highest mountain, and ascend to the halfway point at 2300 meters (7600 feet) for spectacular views of rolling fields, orchards, lakes, and streams. We'll take our lunch at the Highland Resort, then continue with a relaxing cruise on Lake Ashi, and a breathtaking ride on the Mt. Komagatake aerial tramway.

In the evening, we'll head for the station to board the Bullet Train, and speed our way to Kyoto. We'll settle into our hotel, the New Miyako, before midnight.

DAY 2: KYOTO (L)
We'll tour the ancient capital of Japan by motor coach. Among the sights we'll see are Nijo Castle with its exquisite interiors, and the ancient Imperial Palace. (On Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays, we'll take in the Higashi Honganji Temple instead.) After lunch at Kyoto's Handicraft Center, we'll continue to Nara, first capital of a united Japan. Highlights will include the Todaiji Temple with its huge Buddha; the 3000 lanterns of the Kasuga Shrine, and the Deer Park.

Day 3: KYOTO - TOKYO
Continue your explorations of Kyoto today. We can arrange tours to the Imperial Palace, the Katsura Imperial Villa, or the Shugakuin Imperial Villa. Perhaps you'll head for one of the historic outlying districts. Fushimi, in the south of the city, is connected with Hideyoshi Toyotomi, who helped create a strong, united Japan, and built his castle here. You'll also find charming canals, sake breweries, and, among others, the Fushimi Inari Grand Shrine, with its thousand of bright gates, all an expected surprise. Remember that your room will be available until checkout, approximately at noon. In the evening, you'll make your way to Kyoto Station (Transfer on your own) .
Where you'll board the Shinkansen, to reach Tokyo at about 9:30 p.m. We'll see you back to any of the major Tokyo hotels. (Transfer included in Tokyo)
