Day 3: Bosphorus Cruise – Flight to – Cappadocia (BD)
Breakfast is included at the hotel. Pick up time from your hotel is 08:15 AM. We will drive by the Golden Horn before boarding the cruise.
Istanbul’s history was formed by the Bosphorus, the winding strait that separates Europe and Asia, connecting the Black Sea with the Sea of Marmara. Now, as in ancient times, it is a maritime vital link between the countries bordering the Black Sea and those in the rest of the world. Today we take a leisurely cruise northward along this historic waterway. Along its shores are ranged palaces great and small — Topkapi, Dolmabahçe, Beylerbeyi, Küçüksu, Hünkar Iskelesi. Four great fortresses rise on the hills, reminding us that to control the Bosphorus was to control the destinies of nations. After we disembark we will enjoy a visit to the aromatic Egyptian (Spice) Bazaar on the Golden Horn and Rustem Pacha Mosque.

Day 7: Pamukkale Travertines and Hierapolis Ancient City (BLD)
Breakfast is included at the hotel. Tour starts around 8:30 AM to Pamukkale to tour this center of natural thermal spring waters with healing properties. Due to the chemical properties in the water, pure white colored travertines and stepped water terraces have been created on the mountain slope. It is because of its resemblance to cotton piles that it is called ´Cotton Castle´ in Turkish. Visit the travertines and the ancient city of Hierapolis which has the biggest Necropolis with 1200 gravestones in Anatolia.
The sacred pool also is one of the highlights of the site. There is a fee to be paid locally ONLY if you would like to swim in the Sacred Pool. There shallow thermal waters ripple over a wonderful scattering of ancient roman ruins that lie beneath. (lunch is included today while on the tour). After the tour, we head back to Ephesus which is about 3 hours of journey. Accommodation in Ephesus, dinner is included at the hotel.
“Travertine is a form of limestone deposited by mineral springs, especially hot springs. Travertine often has a fibrous or concentric appearance and exists in white, tan and cream-colored varieties. It is formed by a process of rapid precipitation of calcium carbonate, often at the mouth of a hot spring or in a limestone cave. In the latter it can form stalactites, stalagmites and other speleothems. It is frequently used in Italy and elsewhere as a building material.
Travertine is a terrestrial sedimentary rock, formed by the precipitation of carbonate minerals from solution in ground and surface waters, and/or geothermal heated hot-springs. Similar (but softer and extremely porous) deposits formed from ambient-temperature water are known as tufa.”
Day 8: Ephesus and Virgin Mary’s House Tour – The Terrace Houses Of Ephesus – Istanbul (BL)
