DAY 1: Tunis – This is a Private Tour – Choose Your Own Date (D)
Our local representative will greet you at the Tunis/Carthage airport and escort you to your Tunis hotel. After freshening up, take your first look at this Mediterranean capital as you like. All tours and transfers are on a private basis with a private air-conditioned vehicle, private chauffeur, and private local guides. Dinner and overnight at Hotel TUNISIA PALACE (4-star).

DAY 2: Tunis – Kairouan – Tozeur (BL)
Breakfast is always included daily at the hotel. We depart from Tunis to Kairouan. Visit the Medina of Kairouan: the Great Mosquet, the aghlabiythes pools, Mausolée du Barbier. Lunch is included at ERRACHID restaurant. Depart to Tozeur via Gafsa. Arrival, check in, dinner and overnight at HOTEL RAS EL AIN TOZEUR (4-star). In the evening, visit DAR CHRAIET Museum.

DAY 3: Tozeur – Lezard Rouge Train Ride – Chebika – Tamerza (BL)
After breakfast we head out from Tozeur by Jeep to Metlaoui. Board the “Lezard Rouge Train” for a ride “a la Indiana Jones” through the dunes and mountains, then by late afternoon we head back to Tozeur. Lunch is included at your hotel. After lunch depart to visit the mountainous oasis of Chebika, Tamerza and Mides. Return to your hotel in Tozeur by early evening.

DAY 4: Tozeur – Douz (BLD)
Our journey continues to Douz: we cross the Salt lake of Chot el-Jerid and on to Douz. Your Hôtel is EL Mouradi Douz (4-star), where lunch and a comfortable bed await you. Afternoon tour of Douz with camels, and ride into the sandy dunes of Zaafrane. Dinner is included tonight at your hotel.

DAY 5 – Matmata – Gabes – El Jem – Tunis (BL)
Our route takes us through a terrain of increasingly sparse grasses and shrubs, into the desert to Matmata. We’ll stop to look in on a community of miniature underground houses where the earliest settlers sheltered from the extremes of the desert above — as do the Berbers of today. We’ll enjoy a full day of desert adventure. Lunch is included at Hôtel DIAR EL BARBAR (4-star) in Matmata.

Visit the troghlodythe dwelling caves houses. We travel to Gabes in time for shopping in the local market, and for enjoying the shade of a typical palm grove before our next stop: El Jem, which boasts a Roman coliseum very similar to the famous one in Rome. Finally we reach Tunis and your Hotel TUNISIA PALACE (4-star).

DAY 6 – TUNIS (BL)
The famous Bardo Museum, with the largest Roman mosaics in the world, is our first stop, followed by a visit to Tunis’s medina (old city) for last-minute bargain-hunting. After a relaxing lunch in a seaside restaurant, we visit the ruins of ancient Carthage, including its theater, circus and baths. Finally, we stop in the picture-perfect medieval village of Sidi Bou Said before returning to our hotel in Tunis.

DAY 7 – Day at leisure (B)
Full day on your own, maybe for last minute shopping.

DAY 8 – DEPARTURE (B)
Our local rep. escorts you to the airport for your flight home.

Your tour includes:

• Round-trip transportation between airport and hotels, always on a private basis.
• Hotel Accommodations as mentioned, with private facilities, including all taxes.
• Meals as indicated from preset menu (B = breakfast, L = lunch, D = dinner).
