Sample Hotels in Zagora

Kasr Tinsouline

Ksar Tinsouline is a beautiful Berber structure, founded in 1948, with two towers at the entrance. A portal with carved and engraved Arab-Berber decorations leads you into a reception hall with a ceiling decorated by an intricate pattern of reeds. Two wings shelter 96 rooms. In the oldest wing some suites and an apartment house served as host to the royal family and other leading personalities of the world. Most rooms overlook a vast palm grove, a perfect oasis for taking a stroll or a quiet rest.

The Ksar thus offers services and activities that enable customers to take maximum advantage of the beauty and charm of the region, such as tours and excursions, steam bath, camel rides and many other services and activities to discover. A traditional Moroccan and international restaurant of very good quality has continued to impress our visitors — the result of the infinite care that our chefs put in their daily meals.

Riad Lamane

video by Joris van Baars.

Set in the heart of the oasis of Drâa, Riad Lamane (in typical Moroccan style) has an outdoor swimming pool lined with palm trees. It offers air-conditioned accommodation and a dining room in a tent in the garden. You can stay in a Room with a balcony, a Bungalow, or a Berber or African Tent. All accommodations are equipped with a minibar and a private bathroom. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.

A buffet breakfast is served every morning. The 3 restaurants of the riad offer Moroccan specialties. Guests can dine in the tents, in a traditional dining room with fireplace or on the terrace.

    • [...] This is an exceptional small travel agency. Aside from working closely in advance to personalize our deluxe month-long trip to Morocco, Egypt and Jordan, their advice was superb. At each destination we were met at the airport by a local rep (in Cairo and Amman actually inside the customs area) and escorted to our hotels where they handled the check-in for us. At each airport departure, their rep handled the check-in and luggage check for us. We felt like visiting diplomats. When a small glitch in the itinerary occurred while we were in Cairo, I e-mailed the local rep and also Omar in San Francisco. Within 20 minutes the owner of the Cairo agency telephone me to assure me all had been straightened out; Omar had telephoned him immediately upon receiving my e-mail to make sure his client was well cared for. We cannot recommend them highly enough and believe it would be a mistake to plan a trip to this area without consulting them.
