Situated on the eastern fringes of the Kalahari Desert, Mashatu Lodge (Main Camp) is an oasis among the undulating and seemingly endless plains of the wild. Fourteen luxury suites lie along the camp’s perimeter and are designed to allow absolute privacy and a communion with the bush and its inhabitants. Each of the air-conditioned suites is tastefully decorated and includes impressive black and white prints of Africa’s most beautiful animals. A double bed and an extra-large single bed, together with a seating area that includes a single day bed, comfortably accommodates families with younger children. The ample en-suite bathroom with both bath and shower facilities and a separate W.C. complete the well-appointed suites. A large swimming pool is a focal point where visitors cool down and relax between game activities. The Discovery Room is the portal through which the curious get a glimpse of another world. The animal specimens and relics will fascinate and educate visitors of all ages, as will the resident crocodiles – both great and small.

Meals are a sumptuous celebration of traditional African Cuisine – flavoursome, but lacking in ostentation. Fresh fruits, vegetables, home-made breads and pies, succulent meat dishes and delicious desserts will appeal to a guest who appreciates home cooking at its best.

Victoria Falls

In some months, such as October and November, the Zambezi River is very low and as the channel on the Zimbabwean side is deeper than that on the Zambian side, the falls may not actually have any water flowing over them at all from the Zambian side while the falls from the Zimbabwean side always has water! Once again this is very limited to very short periods of time, depending on weather and other factors which no one can control. Of course one can stay on the Zambian side as the program states and do a day trip across to Zimbabwe. This will require a dual entry visa for Zambia and single entry visa for Zimbabwe.

Yellow Fever Vaccination

Yellow Fever Vaccinations are required for entry into Zambia and re-entry in South Africa.

    • Dear Omar, What a beautiful country Turkey is, as are the lovely Turkish people. Our family had a wonderful holiday seeing the incredible landscapes, the historical ruins, and enjoying a new and different culture. Our unfortunate illness was managed so well by everyone. Ahmet, the doctor and hospital staff, and especially Nermin Sumer the manager at Hotel Tuvana. She was an angel and went way above and beyond in helping us with our needs. We are a pretty much go with the flow family so we regrouped, laughed about it and moved on to the next experience. Our itinerary was great and we loved each region's unique aspects. Highlights were horsebackriding, the Mediterranean, the hamam, the Spice Bazaar, the food, and of course our adopted Turkish family (Timir). I could go on and on. Your logistics were flawless. All of our guides and drivers were friendly and on time. Our accommodations were outstanding. (Thanks for the goodies at each stop!!) Tamera Neufeldt must be the most well known lady in Turkey. She is great to talk to and everyone knows her. She is the perfect lead contact. There is so much more. Feel free to call or ask any questions of us. We had a GREAT vacation.
